Quinta do Mondego
The history of Quinta do Mondego begins in 1994, when the Fontes da Cunha family acquired the estate with the aim of creating a space for leisure and social gatherings. What started as a family project quickly evolved into a true passion for winemaking.
In 2003, the first MUNDA Red was produced from Touriga Nacional, marking the launch of a Dão wine brand that has gained recognition over the years.
Today, with approximately 70 hectares in Nelas, the vineyards of Quinta do Mondego stretch along the banks of the Mondego River, producing elegant, fresh wines with a unique character. 🍷

- Winemaking: Hand-harvested at optimal ripeness. Gentle crushing and destemming, followed by cold maceration for 24 hours. Alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks at 20–22°C, with gentle pressing at the end of fermentation. After pressing and settling, the wine is transferred to 500L used French oak barrels for 18 months (60% new). Light filtration before bottling.
- Tasting Notes: Deep violet color. Aromas of floral notes, violet, and spices perfectly integrated with hints of chocolate, tobacco, and vanilla. Smooth, elegant, and delicate attack. Good volume on the palate with refined, well-integrated tannins. Long and elegant finish.
- Food Pairing: Serve between 16°C and 18°C. Pairs excellently with red meats, cured sausages, and cheeses.
