Quinta do Mondego
The history of Quinta do Mondego began in 1994, when the Fontes da Cunha family acquired the estate with the aim of creating a place for leisure and social gatherings. What started as a family project quickly evolved into a true passion for wine.
In 2003, the first MUNDA Red was produced from Touriga Nacional, marking the beginning of a Dão wine brand that has gained recognition over the years.
Today, with around 70 hectares in Nelas, the vineyards of Quinta do Mondego stretch along the banks of the Mondego River, producing elegant, fresh wines with a unique character. 🍷
Quinta do Mondego Rosé is, in our opinion, an elegant and well-balanced rosé, typical of the fresh style of the Dão region.
- Grape Varieties: Encruzado and Touriga Nacional
- Tasting Notes: Light blush colour. Elegant and intense aroma, with delicate notes of red fruits such as redcurrants and raspberries, hints of candy and floral nuances. On the palate it is very fresh, with good acidity, crisp and dry. An excellent gastronomic partner, elegant, complex and full of character.
- Winemaking: Hand-harvested grapes with gentle pressing of both varieties together. Natural settling. Fermentation begins in stainless steel tanks followed by transfer to used 500-litre French oak barrels. Aged for 6 months with bâtonnage.
